Sanny celebrates anniversary with Margotje
In 2007, Sanny de Zoete, Antique & Design Linen celebrated its 12.5th anniversary! For this occasion Sanny acquired the rights for the unique tablecloth Margotje to take it into production again and add it to her collection of designs. She now has the exclusive world rights.

Lebeau dating back to 1930. Margot, the daughter of the best linen producer in the Netherlands Van Dissel in Eindhoven was the model for this unique table linen design. Not only is Margotje
the most remarkable design by Lebeau, it is also the most special tablecloth of the 20th century. It is the only design in damask featuring the everyday life of a child. Margot is ingeniously hidden in the tablecloth surrounded by all her toys.
Unfortunately, no drawings of the Margotje design remained.
However, as Sanny does own the original tablecloth, she spent hours meticulously copying the pattern.
Graphic designer Marleen de Korver then digitalized this pattern. Ireland's best damask weavers created a real weaving pattern of Margotje.

This table linen has nine different napkins which is extraordinary, because there only ever used to be one accompanying design. Each Margotje napkin shows a different toy. Every member of the family can pick their own favourite toy and have their name embroidered on that particular napkin. This will add a personal touch to your tablecloth.
As Sanny herself always goes for the best quality, she gives her customers excellent quality too. This linen damask is very sustainable. It will survive hundreds of washings and last dozens of years allowing it to become a unique item within a family. This tablecloth gives parents and grandparents the opportunity to let their children and grandchildren grow up with objects that are always there. You will grow attached to it when you are a child and as an adult you will be able to recall the atmosphere of the past. Each pure linen table cloth is woven in Ireland in the required size. Margotje is available in sunny yellow, lavender blue or silver grey.
The Margotje damask comes in an anniversary gift box which was especially created for this occasion. A booklet is included with the history of Margot and Margotje.
